In 2007, John and Carla Brinker became the new owners of what was then entirely wooded land. They hoped to use it for conservation, recreation, and educational purposes. Most of all, they wanted to immerse their children in the wonders of nature. After surveying the land, they developed trails and clearings to make the land accessible by car and foot while featuring trees of significance. Since 2007, their family and friends have experienced peace, joy and healing through spending time there together in this primitive, rustic setting. It is named Old Winter Park after the road to the property.
